Whilst being in a lockdown, we’re happy to see our website still helps to Invite, Inspire and Connect people from literally all over the world! Here’s harvesting one week of correspondence.
1. Piano donation from Tualatin, Oregon, USA
Upon getting contacted from Tualatin for a donation of this beautiful Story & Clark upright we – admittedly – first had to look up where it was. Once we realized it’s only 13 miles southwest of Portland it didn’t take very long contacting our friends at Piano.Push.Play.. Match made in heaven, right? Never expected to become an international piano broker 😉 and very much look forward playing that piano – craftfully art-worked by that time – next year (thumbs crossed…!)
2. Single piano installation in Australia
We got a request from a lady to post their newly installed piano on our website. It’s located right outside their Apollo Bay Bakery, 125 Great Ocean Rd, Apollo Bay, Victoria, 3233, Australia. Happy to do so, no worries mate!
Here’s their local police Sergeant Damien contributing to the community, soon to be a cult hero if you ask me!
Before simply posting it as requested, of course do we a little research, only to find out these people are happy to be crazy, like ourselves. Who said you can’t have fun during a lockdown? 🙂 Sad truth though, Apollo Bay used to be a tourist hangout, before it got hit hard by an extensive Covid-19 lockdown. The Bakery had to remove all their indoor dining tables and chairs, so both the piano and the crazy movies on their Facebook are just a creative way to deal with reality. To finish the story positively: (1) the piano will be tuned soonest (2) anyone playing either “Theme from Emily” or “River flows”, will be removed from the property and handed over to the police! 😉 😀
Last: since PIANOS.PUB are better in collecting newly spotted pianos, of course we posted that piano there to! There’ya go Sally and hope to play your piano one day!
3. Tips from Japan on “wandering spirits”
Since we’re preparing a blog on traveling public piano players, we’re asking around here and there occasionally. This week we got tipped by our new Piano Pilgrim Sister in Japan: Yukena53. Still working on it, but glad to learn about the existence of Yomii_Piano and Jacob Koller, can’t wait to watch them live one day!
Stay safe all, stay healthy and enjoy playing your next World Piano!
